Bot Conversation Mode - Keep it simple and slay!

"Hey Jarvis. You kind-da boring."

🙀 OMG! How could I even say this to my bot?!

Yes, I did. And the truth can be hurtful. Sidekick app's UI (up to build 43) is kind-da complicated - so, I admitted.

"Can you make an app be more interesting by making it doing less?"

Sidekick was supposed to be non-intrusive and easy to use. But from several feedbacks, the users didn't know how to use it. Many times, they just sat there and staring at the app not knowing what to do.

This wasn't what I intended for it to be. Can I remove all the features and have just one button? You push on that, just one button, to talk to the robot and it replies to you? Can it be as simple as that?

Of course, I have to do this without losing all the current functionality. I was thinking along the line of having 2 modes: simple mode to just converse with bots; and expert mode where you can do more things.

The idea and the sketch is interesting. But, I have no way to know if it will actually work. Only one way to find out. I sat out to start my new prototype.

$ cd SidekickPrj

$ git pull

$ git checkout -b feature/bot-conversation-mode

I wasn't sure if this will work, but my nosy daughter looked over my shoulder and said "Yes, Daddy, Keep it Simple and Slay!"

Yes, Keep it simple and slay - KISS!
